  • The SInPE20 Organizing committee invite participants to present papers in the modality of roundtable, free communication or Poster, in the symposium thematic topics:

  • Psychology of Education in Youth/ Adolescence
  • Psychology of Education in Young Adult
  • Psychology of Adult Education
  • Psychology of Education in elderly
  • Educational Psychology in the context of Education / Training
  • Educational Psychology in Health context
  • Psychology of Education in Community context

Papers Modalities

Roundtables – set of oral presentations linked to a set of communications on a thematic topic.

Free communication – oral presentations of original empirical research, literature reviews or metanalyses.

Posters – presentation in Posters session

Notes:

  • Each participant can submit several works, however, can submit only two as the first author.
  • Authors will be notified of acceptance of their paper by e-mail until 30 July.
  • Roundtables can consist of up to 5 oral communications (without moderator) or 4 communications (with a moderator). It is the coordinator’s responsibility to collect and submit all individual communications abstracts that compose the Roundtable.
  • When submit their work, authors are authorizing the Organizing Committee to publish it in the SInPE20 Abstracts Book. However, the inclusion of accepted abstracts and articles will depend of formal registration by, at least, of one author, until July 20, 2020 (the non-registration at the Symposium will be understood as a proposal withdrawal).
  • Authors will not be able to update their work after the Scientific Committee of the Symposium acceptance.
  • Accepted papers will only be integrated into the Symposium Program after formal registration and payment by, at least, one of the authors.

Instructions

Abstract:

Free Communication or Poster presentation abstracts must follow the following structure:

  • Title: maximum of 12 words.
  • Text body: up to 250 words, including:
  • Introduction: Main objectives of the study, including theoretical framework, research questions or the theory to be tested.
  • Method: For quantitative studies, describe the design, participants and instruments; in qualitative studies describe design, participants, data collection and analysis method (e.g., grounded theory or content analysis).
  • Results: Briefly describe the empirical results.
  • Discussion: Conclusions and / or discussion about the study contribution to Educational Psychology.

Roundtable abstracts must follow the following structure:

  • Title: maximum of 12 words.
  • Text body: up to 250 words, including:
  • Objectives: Describe the main objectives you intend to achieve with the Roundtable.
  • Relevance: Justify the relevance of the Roundtable to the Symposium theme.
  • Summary: Description of the Roundtable as a whole and integrating individual communications, indicating their presentation order.

Full paper

Document must consider the following standards:

  • Maximum of 15 pages, including title, authors identification and affiliation (no abstract is required).
  • Formatting guidelines: 2 spaces, in black, font “Times New Roman”, size 12 with margins of 2,5 cm. Text and references must be according to APA Style 7th edition.
  • The paper submitted for publication must have exactly the same title and the same authors as the proposed communication to the Symposium presentation.
  • The Scientific Committee will refuse texts that do not comply with the mentioned guidelines, as well as those considerate to not have adequate scientific level for publication. Only works in which the first author is registered for the Symposium will be published.

Posters

Posters must follow the dimensions:

  • Height: 120 cm, in which 20 cm from above are reserved for the title, authors and institution; the remaining 100 cm must contain the text and figures (if applicable).
  • Width: 90 cm

Oral Presentations

  • The opening slide must contain the presentation title of, as well as all authors name and affiliation.
  • The participant must verify the presentation schedule, including the possibility of changes.
  • Presentations have a maximum duration of 15 minutes (10 for presentation and 5 for discussion).
  • Free Communications with more than one author can only be presented by one of the authors.
  • The author responsible for the presentation must be present 10 minutes before the presentation schedule.
  • In poster presentation, is author’s is responsibility for place the poster according to the guidelines given at the time of reception at Secretariat. During scheduled exhibition periods, the author must be near/ next the Poster, available to eventual clarifications to those present.

Abstracts Evaluation Criteria

After the final submission date, Abstracts will be considered by the Scientific Committee, which will only receive the title and text body, being omitted authors and their institutional affiliation. A score of 1 to 5 will be assigned, being required a score of 3 (minimum) for Abstract acceptance, based on the following criteria:

  • Relevance and relevance to the Symposium and adaptation to the required standards
  • Presentation and contextualization of the study
  • Use of consistent and coherent methodology within the study
  • Presentation of results and discussion or conclusions / implications
